Conservative Republicans of Texas Endorse Van Taylor for State Senate
Conservative Endorsements Continue to Pile up for Taylor
PLANO, TX – Conservative Republicans of Texas (CRT) today announced their endorsement of Rep. Van Taylor for the open Texas Senate District 8 seat. CRT is the latest in a string of valuable conservative endorsements Taylor has captured since announcing his candidacy almost two weeks ago.
“Van Taylor is a stalwart leader on issues that matter most to conservatives,” said CRT President Dr. Steve Hotze. “Van is a trusted pro-life leader, and has fought tirelessly for sound fiscal policies that would keep taxes low and government small. Van’s leadership and core conservative principles will make him a valuable member of the Texas Senate."
“I am humbled by the outpouring of support from Republicans across the district and trusted conservative organizations in our state,” Taylor said in response to CRT’s endorsement. “As I talk to community leaders, precinct chairs, and concerned citizens in our district it is clear they want a proven conservative that has the experience necessary to get results in the Texas Senate. CRT’s endorsement today will help us to get out our message and highlight our conservative principles.”
CRT is committed to supporting outstanding legislative candidates who will fight for fiscal discipline and free enterprise economic policies in our government.
Today’s CRT endorsement follows the unprecedented unanimous Senate District 8 House Delegation endorsements of State Representatives Jodie Laubenburg, Scott Turner, Scott Sanford, Jeff Leach, Stefani Carter, and Angie Chen Button. In their first endorsement of the 2014 election cycle, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility hosted a telephone-townhall on Sunday to over 6,000 voters in Senate District 8 to announce their endorsement of Taylor. Last week, Taylor also became the first candidate “TeaAppproved” by the North Texas Tea Party for the 2014 Election Cycle.
