YCT are Unanimous in their Support of Taylor in the District 66 Republican Primary
(Plano, TX) – The Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT), the state’s oldest conservative youth organization, today announced their unanimous support for Republican Van Taylor in Texas’ State House District 66, citing his service to the conservative moment in Texas.
"The Young Conservatives of Texas are proud to support Van Taylor for the Texas House of Representatives,” said Laura Elizabeth Morales, Senior Vice Chairman of YCT. “Mr. Taylor is a solid fiscal conservative with innovative ideas that will continue to make Texas the leader in job growth and development."
"From his service of our country in Iraq, to his service in the conservative movement here in Texas, Van Taylor has shown he is a dedicated public servant and leader," said Tony McDonald, Vice Chairman of Legislative Affairs.
The Young Conservatives of Texas leaders thoroughly examined Taylor’s record of service to the conservative cause. This past Saturday YCT leaders interviewed Taylor and questioned him in depth on his views. Ultimately, YCT leaders unanimously decided that Taylor was the best candidate to represent true conservative values in Austin.
“I thank the Young Conservatives of Texas for their support and endorsement, and I look forward to working with them towards a victory on March 2nd,” said Taylor. “It is encouraging to meet with so many bright young people who care deeply about the political process and fighting for conservative principles. I am honored to have their support.”
The Young Conservatives of Texas is the oldest non-partisan conservative youth organization in the state of Texas and has been fighting for conservative values for 30 years. YCT and its members participate in all aspects of Texas politics, helping to shape policy through education of students on campus, advocating conservative fiscal and social policies, campus and community activism, campaigning for candidates and releasing the oldest and most respected ratings of the Texas Legislature.
A successful businessman, decorated Marine Officer, and lifelong conservative, Van married Anne after his return from Iraq and are the proud parents of Laura, 5, Helen, 3, and three-month old Susie. Van and his family reside in Plano near the land which his great-grandfather farmed during the Great Depression.
In addition to the Young Conservatives of Texas endorsement, Taylor has been endorsed by Congressman Jeb Hensarling, and has received the TeaApproved label from the North Texas Tea Party. More information on Mr. Taylor can be found at www.vantaylor.com.
