Where do you stand on the following issues?

1) Transportation Tax - A state law permitting local governments the option of holding an election for a local transportation tax to fund local transportation needs.

Answer: Strongly Oppose

 

2) Abortion Ban - Ban abortion except where it is necessary to prevent the death of the mother.

Answer: Strongly Favor, except for rape or incest.

 

3) Sexual Orientation protection - Pass a law protecting workers from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. (Employment Non-Discrimination Act)

Answer: Strongly Oppose

 

4) Legalize Gambling - Legalize casino-style gambling in order to dedicate a portion of the revenues to property tax reduction or to increase money for education.

Answer: Strongly Oppose

 

5) Minimum Wage - Increase the minimum wage.

Answer: Strongly Oppose

 

6) Divorce Reform - Reform “no-fault” divorce laws to require mutual consent of both parties, unless there is proof of fault or abuse.

Answer: Strongly Favor

 

7) Government Healthcare - A government healthcare plan to ensure affordable, quality healthcare for every American.

Answer: Strongly Oppose

 

8) Sex Education - Texas schools should teach comprehensive sex education, which includes teaching on abstinence, and should not just teach abstinence only.

Answer: Strongly Oppose

 

9) Embryonic Stem Cells - Allow use of embryonic stem cells for therapeutic purposes.

Answer: Strongly Oppose

 

10) School Vouchers - School choice vouchers in inner-cities which allow parents of children in failing schools to choose a public or private school for their children.

Answer: Strongly Favor

 

11) State Spending Cap - A state constitutional amendment capping state spending so it can never grow faster than the rate of population growth plus inflation.

Answer: Strongly Favor

 

12) Federal Marriage Amendment - Texas should ratify a Federal Marriage Amendment, which limits marriage nationwide to a man and a woman.

Answer: Strongly Favor
